Initial Idea post (proposal)

Idea Proposal

Our initial idea is a horror, and will primarily be set in a forest of some sort. The main plot is that one of the character’s cars breaks down in the middle of no where on the outskirts of a forest, then as she goes and gets out of her car to find signal she hears a noise in the forest that sounds like someone needs help. So upon hearing this she ventures of into the forest to investigate the noise she previously heard, also whilst trying to get signal on her phone. She loses her way with her friend in the forest and roams around starting to doubt whether she heard the noise or if it was her imagination, and after thinking upon it she decides to return to the broken down car but they realise they have lost their way in the woods and can’t find their way back to the car. When they think they are going towards the car they are in fact heading deeper in, where they find a sinister looking object dangling from a tree and then suddenly the camera will drop to the floor for a few seconds and then there will be a shot of the two dead bodies as the video blacks out.

DepicT- Short 90 second Films

DepicT film one-  http://www.depict.org/2016/oor-selfie/?category_request=2016
'oor Selfie'- A poignant look at the passing of time as an elderly couple attempt their first selfie.
I quite like this video because it shows how the generation has changed by technology, its really interesting and quite humerus that most old people don't know how to do such a simple thing such as taking a selfie on a piece of technology. Also i like how they film some of this clip which is from the iPad point of view, so the elderly couple looks fairly confused when looking at the screen. Although i find some of the clip humerus it also had a sad side to it because of the music that is played in the background and it goes back to the elderly couples life from their young age, so in his clip it shows a lot of emotions that we feel in real life.

DepicT film two- http://www.depict.org/2016/living/?category_request=2016
'Living'- in a run-down doctors waiting room... what lies beneath?
When watching this video it gave a sense of realty in this short clip because in this clip the doctors looked very runned down and boring and this is what an average doctors is like. This gives me this sense of mood because the colours are quite dull and the facial expressions on the people are extremely sad.

DepicT film three- http://www.depict.org/2016/baconhorn/?category_request=2016&doing_wp_cron=1476714548.9402151107788085937500
'BaconHorn'- BaconHorn has hired Clancy to help him beat up Reggie the neighbourhood bully, its 1984.
i like this short clip because its very well filmed also it looks like the background is created by a green screen which makes the clip look good and really brings out the actors, also because what they're wearing.

Low Budget Filmmaking- The Blair Witch Project

At the time, The Blair Witch project was the highest grossing low-budget film of all time, it had a budget of $22,000. When watching the 'The Blair Witch Project' i thought it was very low budget i know this because throughout the whole of the film they used held hand cameras and the quality wasn't that great at all. Through most of the film it was set in the woods so therefore they didn't need any equipment to create different backgrounds. There wasn't any expensive props because they're was just pieces of wood, tent and the camping equipment that the actors used so therefore they didn't spend a lot of money for any pieces of equipment/props whatsoever. Throughout the film they didn't use any special effects or any sound effects which would possibly make the film a lot more scary. Finally in the end the Blair Witch wasn't actually shown in the film so therefore they saved more money by not actually adding any special effects/someone dressed up to make the Blair Witch shown.

Introduction task change of hands

This is our introduction task, change of hands. i think our filming went extremely apart from a few small mistakes, the continuity of Joe's plaster on his head which wasn't in the first few clips but appeared in the last clips, people happened to walk past in the background and finally we spent Clarance wrong in the credits as we put an 'a' when its meant to be spelt with an 'e', just like this; Clarence so these were very small faults that could be easily fixed if we was to film our task again to improve it. We have a range of different shot types in our film that we was told to add into our film such as at least five close ups, at least one extreme close up, at least two matches on action, at least one eyeline match, at least one POV, a shot-reverse shot sequence, one camera movement, some establishing shots and re-establishing shot and at least one non cut transition and i think we manged to add these in quite well. if we was to create our film again to improve it we would practice on our acting skills to make it more realistic. overall i think our film went really well and our editing made it alot more better.
